The Heart Behind My Healthcare
I'm Amy Burgess, a certified nurse midwife, certified women's integrative and functional medicine practitioner as well as a menopause society certified practitioner. I've been providing care as a full scope CNM along the front range of Colorado since 2017 after moving back from the Chicago Suburbs where I also practiced midwifery. I've always been a strong advocate for bodily autonomy and informed consent in my birth work and have come to realize this same advocacy and care is needed for mid-life women. On average women see 7 healthcare providers before getting there perimenopausal/menopausal symptoms addressed. As a primary care provider for women, I envision transforming the mid- life healthcare experience through the lense of midwifery- putting women back in the center and supporting their best self to shine thru.
I will work with you to reveal the root cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan utilizing nutrition, lifestyle modifications, supplements, and bioidentical hormone replacement as indicated, in order to restore balance and harmony within your body. My holistic and whole person approach will support you to take control of your health and find balance within!

On a personal note
I am a Midwest native, originally from Iowa- transplanted to Colorado to obtain my master's degree in forensic nursing. I was also introduced to labor & delivery nursing simultaneously and then went on to get a post master's in nurse midwifery from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2012. I had twin boys during the program who are now getting their driver's license! I went from managing a labor, delivery and postpartum unit to full scope midwifery and also had my daughter. We moved back to Colorado in 2017 where my partner is a native. We love the Colorado lifestyle from warm summers and outdoor hikes to feet of snow and strapping on our ski's and heading to the slopes! In my spare time, you can find me teaching or taking a yoga class around town, walking my beloved dogs, or meddling with some herbs!
